looking for...

a suitable hairpiece/veil...Something maybe like this...  I am having a super hard time finding one that doesn't cost a bundle...so I am thinking of trying my hand at making one...We'll see how it goes.

so...there are always bumps in the road no matter WHAT you are doing WHEN or WHERE...there have been surprisingly few bumps during this how wedding planning process however I did hit one last week.  I burst into the bridal shop all pumped to try on my dress with my sweet new shoes! I put on the dress and it fits perfect! I put on the shoes and.....too tall...not just a little too tall, but like "hello everyone look at my shoes" tall.  Dang it....

So we tried on a few pairs of "tester" shoes to see exactly what height I needed.  Verdict is: about 2 inches....Now I never realized how hard is was to find shoes with a heel that short that aren't either loafers or hideous, much less if you are look for shoes that fit that description that are YELLOW.  So let the search begin! and I mean s.e.a.r.c.h.........I spent so much time on the dang computer looking for shoes. and I mean SO. MUCH. TIME. My eyes were watering night after night as I shut my computer, defeated.  Until finally, last night, I found them....and so it is time to reveal to the new and improved, not-too-tall, and much cuter in my opinion, wedding shoes!!!!

are purchased...and they are YELLOW. which is awesome. They might need a little face lift...but I am loving what I have to work with.  Comfortable, not too flashy, and just about the right shade of yellow.  So yeah! one thing down a few hundred more to go!

nobody loves cake.

I mean tons of people "like" cake, enjoy a good piece of cake, might have a craving for cake every once in a while...but nobody. I mean NOBODY LOVES cake.  So in lieu of some "too pretty to eat"monstrosity of sugar and flour that will result in a TON of left overs that no one will want to eat we decided to have cookies!!!!! and everyone. I mean EVERYONE LOVES a good cookie. We made the order yesterday at this cute little bakery in my hometown called Alta Marie's.  There will a few different kinds and they will we awesome! I LOVE COOKIES!

Bridesmaids

I despise match-y, ugly bridesmaids dresses.  I mean, those girls are your FRIENDS! why in the world would you want them to look ugly or be uncomfortable! They should feel and look cute in my opinion...so when I was on the search for bridesmaids dresses I decided that they should all just pick their own and that they should be yellow or cream ish....here is just a taste of what happened and I LOVE it...

While I am sitting here comfortably on my computer my future husband is out working with his hands so our wedding will be beautiful! lol  I just love him so much! haha...anyways what he is doing is hauling a bunch of vintage windows from our amazing friends Joe and Heidi's house (who i LOVE, love love...i'm positive there will be more about them on here later.)  They are letting us borrow them to deck out the ceremony site. It's going to be amazing. Praise the Lord for good friends, old windows that fell out of their houses, and future husbands.

In case you haven't had the opportunity to look at my left hand recently, this is the small ice skating rink that has recently taken up residence on my ring finger...Just kidding! it isn't and ice skating rink...but it is awesome and I do love it.  It comes from the land of NYC made by the group of insanely talented individuals at Bittersweets NY.  I love my ring, it can stay where it is on my finger forever.

letters and bulbs...

I generally don't like wedding decorations, they are stuffy and sometimes make me want to gag...haha...anyways here are some things that don't make me gag that I will be using to decorate! These letters.  They will be spelling things around the receptions site...it will be awesome.  Also...these acrylic bulbs will be hanging in the trees filled with all sorts of interesting things...or maybe just feathers, still deciding...but that is just a taste of the awesomeness to come! yeah yeah!
